I almost wish I hadn't gone down that rabbit-hole — and yet — and yet — it's rather curious, you know, this sort of life!

Toys for photographers
If you are thinking about buying new toys to try out photography, check out this awesome site of Ken Rockwell.
It contains almost every bit of details about camera models, glasses, flashes or anything related to photography. It also provides you comparison of popular models so that you can decide for yourself.
Normally I spend too much money on gazettes that I might never use in my life!
This site really helped me to concentrate more on "real photography" that consists of thinking about composition, looking for interesting ideas than buying new things which are not necessarily going to make me a good photographer overnight.
So, do all the research you need before buying new things and only buy new toys after you are an expert of the current ones.
P.S.: The last line is actually "a note to self". I seem to having hard time remembering this.

Happiness
The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.

Doc Edgerton: the man who made time stand still

It was the title of an National Geographic Magazine article in October 1987 that featured Edgerton's work. While seeking for high speed photography technique I found out about Harold Eugene "Doc" Edgerton who invented ultra-high-speed and stop-action photography.

Edgerton, an electrical engineer and professor at MIT, was a pioneer in the field of high-speed photography, exploring the effects of the stroboscope and electronic flash when directed at moving objects. His subjects ranged from birds in flight to the first millionth of a second of an atomic blast. Some of his more famous images include the compression of a tennis ball against a racquet, the multiple movements of a golfer's swing, a speeding bullet as it passes through an apple, and the coronet formed by a milk drop as it splashes into a saucer. The exhibition contains many of these stop-motion images, which, in addition to being scientific evidence, are considered objects of art.

Find more about his life and work at MIT museum website
Some of his interesting quotes i found in internet:
"Don't make me out to be an artist. I am an engineer. I am after the facts, only the facts."
"In many ways, unexpected results are what have most inspired my photography."
By the way, 1st image is "milk meets coffee" by Irene Müller.

i used to hate weddings.
'cause all u can do there is feeling awkward with lots of people all around but u don't know anyone and no one knows u ,and eat extra oily indigestible food, and just imagining what a sound sleep u could have ,and if u r really unlucky u can also enjoy the crying ceremony of the bride's family, offffffffffff.if they are not happy why r they doing this wedding ??
Now I think its not that bad ,if u have frds there and don’t have to eat (and of course don’t have to watch the bride crying ). And i discoverd this great insight (:P) after attending imran bhai & sonia apu’s wedding .it was really nice ,everyone was laughing ,specially the bride & bridegroom ,and for the first time i felt weddings could be fun too .
ok oviously thats not what i came here to say.
imran bhai's wedding photographer is really nice & he has a website .i love watching other peoples wedding pic whenever i find time.& everytime i see those i just flabbergast why do people waste so much money on weddings?
